Tridacna gigas
T.gigas is the largest of all the Tridacna
species, reaching sizes of 137 centmeters, and weighing up to 250 kilograms.
Other than its size, its destingushing traits are its 4 to 5 folds in its
shell, and is the only specioes that leaves small gaps between its shells
when closed.
T.gigas is not the rarest, but is one of
the most endangered of the species. Photo
